[November 12, 2009]  KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Four players and the coach of the Lincoln Christian University Red Lions volleyball team were honored at the awards banquet of the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II national championship Wednesday evening. 

Megan Callahan, senior setter from Clinton, was named the Co-National Player of the Year as well as being named as a First Team All-American. Joining her as First Team All-Americans were Jamie McFadden, a sophomore outside hitter from Lincoln, and Krystine Schnautz, a sophomore outside hitter from Clay City. Adriane Tschantz, a senior middle blocker from Decatur, was named as a Second Team All-American. Lincoln's Jason Farr was named as the National Coach of the Year.

Before the banquet the LCU team joined with other tournament participants in a service project of preparing Thanksgiving dinners for the homeless in Kissimmee.

The 24-6 Red Lions will begin "pool play" today at 11 a.m., when they take on Philadelphia Biblical University, and at 5:30 against Ozark Christian College. They will continue Friday at 9 a.m. against Trinity College of Florida and conclude pool play against Manhattan Christian College at 3 p.m. The semifinals will be Saturday morning at 9 and the championship game at 3 p.m.
