[November 14, 2009]  November's birthdays -- Birthday time! November's birthday party at the senior center will be Monday, Nov. 16, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Cards for you

Want to brush up on cards or learn a new card game? Come join us at The Oasis on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning at 10 a.m.

Bingo sponsored by Extension

Extension will sponsor bingo games Thursday, Nov. 19, beginning at 1 p.m.

The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director.

Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Alzheimer support group

The Alzheimer support group will meet Thursday, Nov. 19, beginning at 1 p.m. in the library at The Oasis. The group is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Memories class

The Memories class will meet on Thursday, Nov. 19, beginning at 3:45 p.m. in the library at The Oasis. Participants are asked to bring their own pen and paper to learn skills needed to preserve memories for families and friends.

Oasis board meeting

The Oasis board of directors will meet Thursday, Nov. 19, beginning at 5 p.m. The meeting is open to the public. To schedule anything on the agenda, the board must receive notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the month prior to the meeting date.
