Road construction completed between Elkhart and Mount Pulaski

[November 13, 2009]  Beginning Friday afternoon, County Highway 10 between Elkhart and Mount Pulaski will be open to traffic again. Eight and a half miles of this road was reconstructed with a concrete overlay. The roadway now has upgraded guardrail, striping and centerline reflectors that will improve the level of safety for all vehicles.

The cost of construction was approximately $4.5 million. The project was awarded $2 million from the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Economic Development Program. Remaining construction costs are being paid from federal funds.
