Agriculture futures advance on the Chicago BOT

[November 17, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures advanced Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

InsuranceWheat for December delivery surged 23.25 cents to $5.6225 a bushel, while December corn jumped 11.75 cents to $4.0225 a bushel and oats for December delivery gained 1.5 cents to $2.64 a bushel. January soybeans climbed 23 cents to $10.10 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

December live cattle edged up 0.25 cent to 83.57 cents a pound; January feeder cattle lost 0.2 cent to 92.37 cents a pound; December lean hogs slipped 0.05 cent to 54.95 cents a pound; and February pork bellies added 0.35 cent to 87.4 cents a pound.
