Agriculture futures mixed, livestock prices drop

[October 02, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mixed early Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery fell 6.5 cents to $4.51 a bushel, and December corn lost 0.75 cent to $3.4325 a bushel. November soybeans rose 2 cents to $9.29 a bushel, while oats for December delivery were unchanged at $2.33 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures mostly fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle dropped 0.75 cent to 84.85 cents a pound; October feeder cattle lost 0.80 cent to 95.70 cents a pound; October lean hogs dropped 0.42 cent to 49.65 cents a pound; but February pork bellies added 0.50 cent to 82.20 cents a pound.
