Comments from LC coach Mark Tippett: "Tonight was a struggle from
start to finish. The match against Carl Sandburg was one of our
sloppiest matches of the season, but we managed to escape with the
victory. It took a very focused effort to dig our way out of the
hole we created for ourselves in set five, but we made the plays
when we had to make them in order to get the win.

"We actually played a better match in the loss to Southeastern.
They were an aggressive team with a very solid block, and we stepped
up our game to match theirs. Sets two and three could have gone
either way, so even though we lost the match, I was actually more
pleased by the effort in the final two sets than I was by most of
our work in the earlier match."
Lincoln returns home this weekend to host a triangular of their
own. The visiting teams will be Black Hawk East and Kaskaskia
Community College.
