LCU soccer vs. Blackburn

[October 02, 2009]  The Lincoln Christian University men's and women's Red Lions soccer teams played at home against the Beavers of Blackburn College on Thursday.

For the LCU men, Troy Lane scored two goals, Nick Alexander had an assist, and goalies Chris Strohbeck and Matt Nanney had seven and 11 saves, respectively, as the Red Lions dropped their game to Blackburn 2-6.

LCU showed great improvement from the first time they met Blackburn and were defeated 0-15.

The men will play at home again Saturday at 1 p.m. against Maranatha Baptist Bible College.

In the women's game, after playing to a 0-0 first half, the Red Lions lost to the Blackburn Beavers 3-0.

Krys Alexander scored two of the goals for the Beavers.

The LCU women will also play again Saturday, when they host Maranatha at 3 p.m.
