Adult fitness -- Have you heard? The Y Fitness Crew is BACK!
Don't miss out on these great fitness programs: Tuesdays, Dance
Fitness, which highlights a variety of dance genres that will get
you into shape; Thursdays, Punch/Kick Fitness, a mix of kickboxing,
dance and martial arts. Sign up for six weeks of classes and get
generous savings. Classes are at the YMCA Activity Center on Wyatt
Avenue. Registration forms are now available for the Oct. 9 and 12
School's Out Fun Days at the YMCA Activity Center, 719 Wyatt
Ave. Both dates are available for children in District 27, and C-EL
students can join the fun on Oct. 12. These are thematically
planned, fun-filled "mini-camp" days offered to kindergarten to
sixth-grade children on weekdays when school is not in session. YMCA
Before and After School staff officiates activities, lessons,
playtime and more. Fee increases apply after registration deadlines,
which are two weeks prior to each Fun Day.
Lincoln Area YMCA art instructor Marion Doble will offer
Printmaking Art at the YMCA Activity Center on Monday, Oct. 12,
from 9:30 to 11 a.m. First- to sixth-grade children can try their
hand at carving their own print plate, putting "ink" on the surface,
laying paper on top and creating their own prints. This class will
follow traditions of master artists and printmakers Leonardo Da
Vinci and Edward Munch. Member and nonmember rates apply. Fees
increase after the Oct. 5 registration deadline.
