CDC to acquire business intelligence provider

[October 06, 2009]  ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) -- Business software developer CDC Software Corp. said Monday it has agreed to an all-cash purchase of a provider of business intelligence solutions for manufacturing intended to help expand its presence in the food and beverage, consumer packaged goods and automotive markets.

Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The planned acquisition is expected to add to earnings immediately, said Bruce Cameron, president of CDC Software.

The acquisition would mark the latest of several strategic initiatives undertaken by CDC Software.

CDC Software said last month it was acquiring up to a 51 percent stake in Hejia Software Technology Co. Ltd. in Beijing, which, develops enterprise resource planning software.

Shares in CDC Software were off 11 cents, or 1.2 percent, at $9.06 in afternoon trading Monday.
