[October 06, 2009]  The Lincoln Kiwanis Club is having another great buffet at Lincoln College's Meyer-Evans Student Center this coming Sunday, Oct. 11. from 11:00am till 1:30pm. Chef Warren and his crew will be serving up a 17-dish buffet that will have something to please everyone. The price is only $10 for adults, $5.00 for kids 6-10, and youngsters under 6 eat for free.

You can get tickets at the door or you can stop by the chamber office at the Information Center, 1555 Fifth St., to pick them up ahead of time. The profits from the buffet will go to help fund youth projects in the community.

The Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce is getting ready to kick off an exciting contest for anyone who would like to create the 2010 Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival pin and T-shirt design. They feel this contest will give our local artists (amateur and professional) a way to get involved in our festival and showcase their skills. More details about the contest are coming soon. Chamber members are being asked to help sponsor a nice prize package for the winner of the contest. If you are interested in helping promote the arts in our community, this contest is a great way to do that.

The chamber is looking for gift cards or gift certificates for services at local businesses or gifts from your business and will also accept cash. Any cash received will be given to the winner in Chamber Bucks. It is the intent that this contest be a Logan County event. Contestants must reside in Logan County, and the prize packages will be ALL Logan County-related. Thank you for your continued support of the Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival.

The drawing is open to Illinois residents 15 years of age and older. Rules are posted on the ILFishing.com drawing page at www.ilfishing.com/drawing.html.

Junior Achievement presents the "economics of life" to K-12 students from those who know it best -- business professionals just like you.
