Thursday reports

Lincoln Police Department reports for Thursday, Oct. 8

Accident on Oct. 5 at 5:26 a.m.; Interstate 55 BL, 0.5 mile north of Woodlawn Road

--Rachel E. Foster, female, 39, of Lincoln; 2010 Chevrolet Uplander

Foster was traveling southwest around the Lincoln Parkway curve approximately half a mile north of Woodlawn Road. She drove off the road and traveled through the ditch between Lincoln Parkway and Old Route 121, traveled through the ditch between Old Route 121 and Hickox Drive, drove out of the ditch onto Hickox Drive, then drove off Hickox Drive and struck a mailbox in the ditch on the other side of Hickox. Foster said she didn't remember the accident.

[to top of second column]

Foster had a previous accident on July 7 on Fifth Street Road. The Logan County sheriff's office handled the crash report, and Foster said then that she had a seizure that caused the accident.

The officer asked if she had another seizure that made her drive off the road this time. She said she didn't think she had a seizure but didn't remember going through the ditch.

The officer believed that Foster had another seizure that caused this accident. The office filled out the medical reporting and re-examination request to have Foster retested. The officer then sent that copy to the Illinois secretary of state's office, Driver Services Department.
