[October 09, 2009]  Elaine Aue, owner of the Lincoln Culver's, has advised LDN that they will be hosting a special all-day event at their store, 2530 Woodlawn Road, on Oct. 17.

Aue said she has been bothered by the Gee family tragedy from day one and wants to do as much as she can to help the family.

The First United Methodist Church has set up a fund for the Gee family to help defray funeral and medical costs resulting from the tragedy, and Aue and her store want to become involved in helping.

The fundraiser will be all day, from 10:30 a.m. till 10:30 p.m. Aue said that 25 percent of all sales at the eatery that day will go to the family fund. She encourages everyone in the community to come out for this event. There will also be containers where patrons can drop in donations.

The First United Methodist Youth Group in Lincoln will be on hand to help work tables, and Aue hopes the community will come out to support this worthy cause, besides getting a great meal.

Anyone who cannot make the event can send their donations directly to the First United Methodist Church. Information on how is currently in our Top Stories section.
