[October 14, 2009]  The Lincoln Area YMCA is hosting its annual Harvest Run on Oct. 24. This includes a 5K run and a one-mile fun run-walk. The Harvest Run is in conjunction with the Harvest of Talents, an event held in Lincoln each year to fight world hunger. Proceeds go to the Harvest of Talents for World Hunger.

RestaurantThe run starts at 8:30 a.m. at the corner of Hamilton and Pekin streets, behind the safety complex. The course is out and back on a flat surface with local law enforcement leading the way.

Harvest Run T-shirts and water bottles will be given to the first 50 individual registrants.  All registrants will receive a water bottle while supplies last.

Race day registrations and goody bags will be at the Lincoln Christian Church parking lot, 204 N. McLean.

Have a team? Team or group registrations are welcome and will receive a generous discount for the 5K. There is a minimum of 15 participants per team or group. Each member of the team will receive a Harvest Run water bottle while supplies last.

Teams should register by Oct. 22.

Click here for a team registration form and individual registration form or visit http://www.lincolnymca.org/HarvestRun.aspx.

The YMCA thanks the sponsors, Guzzardo's Italian Villa and Elkhart Grain Co.
