[October 20, 2009]  Lincoln attorney Jim Grimaldi has advised LDN that he will seek a bail reduction on behalf of his client Jennifer C. Earnest in relation to the Gee family murders.

Grimaldi has been appointed by the court as public defender. Earnest was charged with one count of obstructing justice, a Class A felony. Her bail had been set at $50,000 on Oct. 8 by Judge Thomas M. Harris. Grimaldi will contend that the amount of bail is excessive and beyond the means of his client to collect the 10% necessary  to be released on bond. The bail reduction hearing is set for Thursday at 9 a.m. in Circuit Court.

At approximately 3:00 pm, Sara Duncan appeared before Judge Thomas M. Harris and was also given a $50,000 bail requirement. Duncan's request for a public defender was refused at the hearing.
