The event is free and open to the public. Storyteller Mike
Anderson from Jacksonville will tell ghost stories suitable for ages
10 and over. After his program in the library, hot apple cider and
cookies will be served, and there will be a special nighttime guided
tour of the home.
The home's original owner, Susan Lawrence Dana, held several
séances in the house during the early 1900s as well as meetings
concerning metaphysical activities.

Dana-Thomas
House State Historic Site, administered by the Illinois Historic
Preservation Agency, is open for public tours Wednesday through
Sunday, with the first tour starting at 9 a.m. and the last tour of
the day at 4 p.m. A donation of $5 for adults, $3 for children and
$13 per family is suggested.
