Lincoln Police Department reports for Thursday, Oct. 29
Accident on Oct. 28 at 6:57 p.m.; Limit Street, 100 feet
south of Delavan Street
--Lijalane Frye, 36-year-old female, Lincoln; 2006 Mercury
Mountaineer
--Sally A. Delahunt, 44-year-old female, Elkhart
Frye was stopped on Limit Street about five feet north of the
crosswalk by Precision Products. Frye said she had just dropped off
a passenger and watched him walk across the road at the crosswalk.
Frye said she waited for two people to cross the road and then began
to pull away after they cleared. Frye said she didn’t see Delahunt
following and bumped her with the right front portion of her vehicle
as she pulled away. Delahunt fell to the ground.
A witness said he was walking beside Delahunt in the crosswalk
when the vehicle began to pull away and struck her. The witness said
he tried to grab Delahunt, but she fell to the ground after being
struck.
Delahunt said she was walking side by side with the witness.
Delahunt said as she stepped into the street, Frye was parked, then
began to move and struck her.
Delahunt had an injury to her tailbone and left elbow.
All involved said Frye moved about three to five feet from a stop
when she struck Delahunt.

Vehicle damage on Tuesday at 5:11 a.m.; Interstate 55
Business Loop, 0.25 mile south of Fifth Street
--James W. Cale, 61-year-old male, Lincoln; 2001 Toyota Camry
Cale was traveling southbound on Lincoln Parkway about one-fourth
mile south of Fifth Street. A deer was running westbound across
Lincoln Parkway. Cale struck the deer on the roadway, causing damage
to the front end of his vehicle. Cale said the deer was thrown into
his windshield and then onto the shoulder of the road.

- Duffield, Jennifer M., 21-year-old female, St. Louis, Mo.;
arrested Oct. 28 on Interstate 55 at milepost 124; McLean County
warrant -- failure to appear; $1,000, 10 percent
