[October 31, 2009]  Late Saturday morning, Logan County emergency response agencies were notified of a stranded motorist two miles south of Mount Pulaski. A person was seen standing on top of a vehicle near 1225th Avenue, waving for help.

Several fire departments, paramedics and the Logan County dive team were called to the scene. Life Flight was called to transport the victim.

On arrival at the scene, near Lake Fork bridge, responders estimated the water to be a half-mile wide with the vehicle located half of that distance and the water a foot deep.

Logan County is under a flood advisory. Surrounding counties have variable flooding conditions as well. Travelers particularly should be aware of flooded roadways.

Drivers should stay alert and exercise extreme caution as streams and rivers continue to rise due to past days’ heavy rain over the area and upstream.
