Agriculture futures trade lower on the CBOT

[September 02, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures fell Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery slid 11.5 cents to $4.8725 a bushel, while December corn dropped 10.5 cents to $3.1925 a bushel and November soybeans plunged 24 cents to $9.555 a bushel. Oats for December delivery fell 9.5 cents to $2.155 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures traded lower and pork futures advanced on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle lost 0.57 cent to 86.1 cents a pound; October feeder cattle fell 0.62 cent to 96.8 cents a pound; October lean hogs rose 1.35 cents to 49.5 cents a pound; and February pork bellies gained 2 cents to 78.25 cents a pound.
