[September 02, 2009]  WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) -- West Valley City police said two men tried to burglarize a pawnshop by ramming it with a tractor-trailer.

RestaurantPolice said two men stole a semitrailer from a North Salt Lake construction company, then rammed it into a West Valley City pawnshop early Monday.

West Valley City police Capt. Tom McLachlan said the men rammed the semi through the first set of doors of the building but couldn't get through the second set.

A clerk at a convenience store across the street heard three crashes and ran outside. McLachlan said the two men then fled the scene, leaving the semi behind.

Police are reviewing tape to see if the men were caught on film.
