Agriculture futures trade lower on the CBOT

[September 04, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were lower Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery fell 7 cents to $4.7875 a bushel, while December corn lost 3.5 cents to $3.1575 a bushel and November soybeans dropped 9.5 cents to $9.415 a bushel. Oats for December delivery slid 5 cents to $2.09 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures fell and pork futures advanced on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle slipped 0.05 cent to 86.72 cents a pound; October feeder cattle fell 0.13 cent to 98.37 cents a pound; October lean hogs gained 0.95 cent to 49.77 cents a pound; and February pork bellies jumped 1.87 cents to 80.87 cents a pound.
