Agriculture futures drop, livestock prices higher

[September 05, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures sold off Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery fell 7 cents to $4.7175 a bushel; December corn lost 9.5 cents to $3.0625 a bushel; November soybeans tumbled 19.5 cents to $9.22 a bushel; and oats for December delivery slid 1.25 cents to $2.0775 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures mostly advanced on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle slipped 0.07 cent to 86.65 cents a pound; October feeder cattle added 0.18 cent to 98.55 cents a pound; October lean hogs gained 0.73 cent to 50.50 cents a pound; and February pork bellies jumped 2 cents to 82.87 cents a pound.
