[September 04, 2009]  Lincoln Mayor Keith Snyder has announced he will be hosting an Economic Development Summit for the city of Lincoln. The summit will be on Sept. 12 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Alumni Room in the student center on the campus of Lincoln College.

RestaurantJohn Cox, a Logan County native and currently president and CEO of the Cabarrus Regional Partnership, will facilitate the meeting. Cabarrus County, N.C., is located on the
outskirts of Charlotte, N.C. It is home to the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Cabarrus Regional Partnership consists of the 1,100-member Cabarrus Regional Chamber, the
Cabarrus Economic Development Council, and the Cabarrus Convention and Visitors Bureau.

According to Snyder, the purpose of the summit is to allow a cross section of Lincoln to have the opportunity to discuss, dream and plan together the future focus and priorities of economic development for our community. "We are planning for it to be an interactive and useful session," Snyder said.

If members of the public are interested in attending and participating in the summit, they are asked to RSVP to the mayor's office by calling 735-1612 and leaving a message or by sending an e-mail to mayor@cityoflincoln-il.gov.
