Lincoln College volleyball results

[September 10, 2009]  On Wednesday, Lincoln College lost to Springfield College in four sets. The scores were 22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23. LC is now 5-4 on the year.

LC individual stats:

• Melanie Herbeck -- 16 set assists, 4 points

• Gretchen Rieger -- 10 kills, 6 digs, 7 points

• Lara Dawson -- 8 kills, 6 points

• Chelsea Barr -- 16 digs, 3 points

• Abbie Hare -- 8 kills, 4 blocks

• Samantha Murphy -- 7 set assists, 5 points

LC coach Mark Tippett commented: "As the scores show, each set in this match was close. We jumped out to a big lead on SCI, then let it slip away and almost gave them set one. I think this shook our confidence a bit and built theirs up because we played a bit tentative the rest of the night. Our team needs to work on staying focused and not letting a mistake or two get us rattled to the point we start beating ourselves."
