First Presbyterian Church to Host Concert

[September 11, 2009]   -- Jim Croegaert, a Lincoln University alumnus and a celebrate composer of Christian music will lead worship at The First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, September 16 at 6:00 p.m

RestaurantA native of Peoria, Croegaert toured with Phillips Records’ band, Wylde Heard before forming the band known as Hope. Hope was one of the first “Christian Contemporary” or “Jesus Rock” bands in America. In 1986, the celebrated Sandi Patty recorded Croegaert’s, “Was It a Morning Like This?” as the title song on her Grammy Award winning album. Croegaert’s most recent recording is “The Light That Falls to Earth.”

After graduating from LCC (now LCU) in 1976, Croegaert ministered to Mennonite and Church of the Brethren communities in Evanston, Illinois. Eventually drawn back to the Roman Catholicism of his youth, Croegaert next trained to become a hospital chaplain. Today he works as a chaplain at a major Catholic hospital in Chicago.

Croegaert will return to Lincoln to lead a 6:00 p.m. worship service at the First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, September 16.
