The Saturday afternoon Mount Pulaski Fall Festival Parade kicked off with a dramatic and beautiful display of our nation's colors.

As the parade begins, the primary objective is "GET CANDY!" This young man's strategy involves waving and hollering to get attention.

These young ladies think that the best strategy is keep a watchful eye and move quickly.

And there is plenty to go around, as this Mount Pulaski firefighter is just one of several who manned a variety of floats tossing out sweet goodies.

This little cutie is collecting smiles instead of candy. As she waves at the passers-by, how can anyone resist smiling and waving back?

And speaking of cuteness, here is Mount. Pulaski's Cutest Lil Farmer. Riding in the parade beside him are Little Miss Mount Pulaski and Junior Miss Mount Pulaski.

And it's not a parade without a marching band! Here the Mount Pulaski High School Marching Band performs for the audience.

PORTA High School from Petersburg was also invited to join in the fun of the festival.
