Agriculture futures trade higher on the CBOT

[September 16, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures jumped Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery advanced 16.5 cents to $4.705 a bushel, while December corn surged 28.75 cents to $3.465 a bushel and November soybeans soared 51 cents to $9.60 a bushel. Oats for December delivery climbed 11.75 cents to $2.1725 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures traded mixed and pork futures were higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle gained 0.17 cent to 87.22 cents a pound; October feeder cattle fell 0.5 cent to 98.42 cents a pound; October lean hogs rose 2.47 cents to 53.42 cents a pound; and February pork bellies edged up 0.8 cent to 87.8 cents a pound.
