[September 16, 2009]  GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) -- Police say a 15-year-old Texas boy stabbed his mother in the back with a 6-inch kitchen knife while pretending to hug her after an argument.

Police arrested the teen Tuesday in the Dallas-Fort Worth suburb of Grapevine about three hours after his mother called police.

Authorities say the woman was treated at a Dallas hospital for a non-life-threatening wound.

Police say the boy and his mom had an argument Monday night. He allegedly pretended to apologize Tuesday, then stabbed her while they embraced. The mother ran to her bedroom, locked the door and called 911.

The boy's identity is being withheld because of his age, but he faces a juvenile charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
