[September 21, 2009]  According to Recalls.org, a nonprofit organization, the following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending Sept. 19: 

InsuranceGARLIC SLICERS 

Trudeau Corporation is recalling Trudeau Garlic Duo Slicers sold nationwide. The garlic duo's slicer blades can break during use, posing a laceration hazard. 

This product is a combination garlic press and slicer. Recalled model numbers 998009, 998010 or 998010CB were printed on the product's packing card, hang tag, or UPC label, but not on the product. The units have "Trudeau" embossed on the handle. 

Consumers should contact Trudeau at (888) 887 8332 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday to Friday for directions on how to receive a free replacement garlic press or visit www.trudeaucorp.com. More info at www.recalls.org.

CHILDREN'S SHOES 

C & J Clark America Inc., d/b/a the Clarks Companies N.A. is recalling Children's Shoes sold at Clarks retail stores nationwide from February 2009 to July 2009. Molded rubber pieces on the sole of the recalled shoes can detach, posing a choking hazard. 

This recall involves ClarksŪ children's shoes sold under the "crawlers" and "hazy daze" style names. The crawlers were sold in infant sizes 2 to 3 1/2; and the hazy daze in sizes 4 to 6 1/2. "Clarks" is printed on the sole underneath the heel and the words "Clarks First Shoes" is printed on a multi-colored label inside the shoe's heel area. Consumers should return the shoes to the nearest ClarksŪ store for a full refund.

FURNACES 

Northwest Manufacturing Inc. is recalling WoodMaster AFS 900 Outdoor Furnaces sold nationwide from July 2006 to February 2009. The temperature gauge can fail and cause fire in the fuel storage hopper, posing a fire and burn hazard. 

This recall involves the WoodMaster AFS 900 outdoor furnace. The furnaces were sold in green, black, brown, camo, grey, red and taupe. The WoodMaster logo AND AFS900 are on the front.
