LCU notches 9th straight win

[September 23, 2009]  The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University, ranked No. 1 in the nation, increased their winning streak to seven in a row, making their season record 10-2, as they defeated the Lady Blues of Illinois College in three straight games Tuesday evening.

The Lady Blues, coached by LCU alum Chad Nelson, brought a 3-6 record into Laughlin Center and stayed close to the Red Lions in the first two games 25-19, 25-22, before dropping the third game 25-10. Coach Jason Farr was able to use his entire bench during the third game.

The Red Lions were led by Krystine Schnautz with 13 kills, 10 digs and one block; Adriane Tschantz, nine kills, three digs and three blocks; Jamie McFadden, six kills, nine digs, two blocks and one assist; and Nicki Wingfield, six kills and one block. Megan Callahan had eight digs and 32 assists, and Jessica Crowl had five digs.

LCU will play at Millikin University on Saturday.
