 Logan County Sheriff Steve Nichols has confirmed that police are
investigating multiple fatalities at a home in Beason.
Reports could not be confirmed, but sources near the scene said they
were told a shooting and stabbing had occurred in the
community. Later unconfirmed reports say that there were multiple
victims, possible five, all belonging to one family.
Beason is a small community located nine miles east of Lincoln, one
mile south of Route 10.
From the positioning of police patrol cars, the incident appears to
have happened within a short distance of the Beason grain elevator,
which is on the Beason blacktop.
A press conference will be held by authorities today, Tuesday at
11:00am. regarding
the incident.
