Accident reports for Monday, April 5

Hit-and-run at Thorntons on Keokuk

Accident occurred March 26 at 4 p.m. in the 500 block of Keokuk.

  • Moore, Roger S., 64-year-old male, Hartsburg; 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

Moore reported that he was in the Thorntons parking lot, parked facing North Kankakee. He left his vehicle and went into the station, where he remained for five to 10 minutes. Upon exiting, he noticed that his car had been damaged. Moore did not see any portion of the hit-and-run.

Hit-and-run on Sangamon Street

Accident occurred on March 28 at 12:01 a.m.

  • Eads, Marchelle L., 36-year-old female, Beason; 2010 Dodge Durango

Eads reported that she was parked on South Sangamon Street, off Broadway, and an unknown vehicle struck her vehicle, then left the scene.

Rear-end collision on Lincoln Parkway at Woodlawn

Accident occurred March 28 at 2:34 p.m.

  • Folkes, Welby W., 76-year-old male, Elkhart; 1998 Ford F-150 pickup

  • Merritt, Samuel C., 47-year-old male, Groveland; 2000 Chevrolet Camaro

Both vehicles were northbound on Lincoln Parkway at the intersection with Woodlawn Road, preparing to turn right onto Woodlawn. Merritt reported that he was stopped, waiting to turn, when he was rear-ended by Folkes.

Folkes said that he was rear-ended also, by an unknown vehicle that pushed his truck into the Camaro.

Two-car accident in gas station parking lot

Accident occurred March 28 at 9:19 p.m. in the 700 block of Woodlawn.

  • Wade, Jeffery N., 32-year-old male, Lincoln; 2004 Dodge Intrepid owned by Elizabeth M. Padro

  • Huffman, Kayla D., 19-year-old female, Mason City; 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo owned by Dawn L. Wood

Wade reported that he was parked near the curb at the gas station on Woodlawn. He began to pull forward as Huffman was pulling up to the south side of the building. Wade struck Huffman.

Lincoln Police Department reports for Monday, April 5

  • Evans, Kristopher D., 31-year-old male, Beason; arrested April 3 in Scully Park on a Logan County warrant for failure to appear. Bond was set at $250 cash.

  • Hutchcraft, Landon L., 20-year-old male, Lincoln; arrested April 3 in the 1000 block of North Jefferson on a Logan County warrant for failure to appear. Bond was set at $3,000, 10 percent.

  • Ivey, Clell A., 35-year-old male, Lincoln; arrested April 3 in the 1700 block of Fifth Street on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant. Held without bond.

  • Skelton, Paul E., 44-year-old male, Middletown; arrested April 3 in the 900 block of North Monroe on Class C charge of disorderly conduct.

Mount Pulaski Police Department report for Monday, April 5

  • Stewart, Dennis R., 56-year-old male, Mount Pulaski; arrested April 2 at his residence on a Logan County warrant for failure to appear. Bond was set at $250 cash.

Logan County Sheriff's Department reports for Monday, April 5

  • Foran, James R., 59-year-old male, Decatur; arrested April 5; no arrest location listed; Class A charge of driving with license suspended. Bond was set at $120 cash.

  • Litterly, Shannon L., 39-year-old male, Elkhart; arrested April 4 in the 600 block of 1250th Avenue on Class A charge of driving under the influence and Class A charge of child endangerment.

  • Meridith, Rickey A., 22-year-old male, Lincoln, arrested April 3 at 1250th Avenue and 1300 Street, Lincoln, on Class A charge of driving with an expired driver's license. License had expired nearly a year ago.
