[April 20, 2010]  CHICAGO (AP) -- President Obama and his family are getting new neighbors -- not in Washington but in their native Chicago.

Real estate agent Matt Garrison says the eight-bedroom house next door to the Obama family home in a ritzy South Side neighborhood has sold for $1.4 million.

Garrison says the deal closed Tuesday, seven months after the brick house went on the market. He says the new owners want to remain anonymous.

The previous owners bought the 6,000-square-foot home in 1973 for $35,000.

Living near the Obamas isn't without its hassles. The Secret Service has closely monitored anyone who comes within blocks of the neighborhood whenever the Obamas comes to town.

The Obamas have spent little time at their Chicago home since moving to the White House.
