Community Action annual Cubs trip June 30

[April 20, 2010]  The annual Cubs game trip sponsored by Loyd Elam, Community Action and Eagles Lodge 2708 will be on June 30, when the Cubs play the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Children between 8 and 12 are eligible to apply at Community Action on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to children attending for the first time. The registration deadline for signing up your child or children is June 17. Limited seats are available.

"For years Mr. Elam has made the funds available to provide this trip to low-income children in Logan County whose parents wouldn't be able to otherwise afford it," said Cyndi Campbell, resource specialist at Community Action. "The kids that go definitely appreciate it and have a wonderful time."

Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois provides services to low-income individuals in DeWitt, Fulton, Logan, Mason, Menard and Piatt counties.
