Agriculture futures rise, livestock prices drop

[April 20, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures traded were mostly higher early Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

InsuranceWheat for July delivery added 6.75 cents to $4.86 a bushel; July corn edged up 0.5 cent to $3.5775 a bushel; May soybeans gained 5.75 cents to $9.58 a bushel; and May oats were unchanged at $2.15 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle slipped 0.08 cent to 94.67 cents a pound; May feeder cattle lost 0.22 cent to $1.1515 a pound; June lean hogs dropped 0.47 cent to 83.90 cents a pound; and May pork bellies fell 0.37 cent to 95.90 cents a pound.
