[April 20, 2010]  The Heritage In Flight Museum, along with the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County, is announcing the upcoming Airport Daze. This fourth annual event will be on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Logan County Airport.

This year's event is extra-special due to the milestones being celebrated. The Heritage in Flight Museum will celebrate its 30th anniversary, after calling the Logan County Airport home for the past 25 years. In addition, the airport is celebrating its 60th anniversary.

Airport Daze is a free event celebrating aviation. The day will include aircraft displays, refreshments, concessions, radio-controlled airplane flights and museum displays. From 10 a.m. to noon, free airplane rides are also being offered for young people ages 8-18 who have never had the opportunity to fly.

The Heritage in Flight Museum features aviation and military displays from all the military conflicts of this century, plus a flight line of static displays from helicopters to carrier jets, and is housed in an actual World War II barracks from Camp Ellis. The museum is dedicated to the preservation of aviation history. Memorabilia and artifacts displayed from all the military conflicts dating back to World War I have been donated by veterans and their families.
