Agriculture futures rise, livestock prices drop

[April 21, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures mostly rose early Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery added 6.5 cents to $4.86 a bushel; July corn gained 2.25 cents to $3.595 a bushel; July soybeans rose 3.5 cents to $9.90 a bushel; and July oats dipped 0.5 cent to $2.1275 a bushel.

Meanwhile, livestock futures were mostly lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle slipped 0.20 cent to 94.30 cents a pound; May feeder cattle dropped 0.53 cent to $1.1252 a pound; June lean hogs fell 0.15 cent to 86.20 cents a pound; and May pork bellies climbed 0.35 cent to 99.45 cents a pound.
