[April 20, 2010]  The Christian Village has announced the hiring of Doug Rutter as the new administrator and the promotion of Julie King to assistant administrator.

Rutter, who has a degree in Christian ministries from Lincoln Christian University, recently completed a six-month Administrator in Training program at the Christian Village.

Prior to that, Rutter served as teaching pastor and executive director at Eastview Christian Church in Normal. He began his career in a management capacity with State Farm Insurance in Bloomington.

In commenting on his new role, Rutter noted, "I most appreciate the opportunity to be a part of an organization dedicated to ministering to those who might otherwise be isolated and forgotten by our culture."

"I truly feel I’m able to make a substantial difference in the lives of our residents," he said. "Being a part of the Christian Village community has been the most rewarding experience of ministry I’ve ever had."

King has worked at the Christian Village for 15 years, starting as an activity aide. She has since served as activity director, social services director, community liaison, director of admissions and most recently, residential services director.

The Christian Village offers a range of senior living options including garden homes, senior apartments, assisted living, skilled nursing care, Reclaim Rehabilitation and the Haven Center Memory Care Unit.
