Agriculture futures mixed, livestock prices drop

[April 23, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures traded mixed early Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery lost 2.75 cents to $4.97 a bushel; July corn shed 1.25 cents to $3.6775 a bushel; July soybeans edged up 0.5 cent to $10.0065 a bushel; and July oats were flat at $2.195 a bushel.

Meanwhile, livestock futures dropped on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle slid 0.35 cent to 95.10 cents a pound; May feeder cattle shed 0.35 cent to $1.1260 a pound; June lean hogs fell 0.42 cent to 86.65 cents a pound; and May pork bellies fell 1.52 cents to 95.20 cents a pound.
