Lincoln's Environmentally Active Friends, or L.E.A.F., a club offered at Lincoln Community High School, hosted an Earth Day event for local fourth-graders Thursday at St. John's Community Recreation Room. Two hundred fourth-graders participated in the Earth Day activities. The children came either in the morning or the afternoon. There were four stations set up, led and taught by LCHS students. Protecting water resources, reusing materials, recycling do's and don'ts, and reducing your energy footprint were this year's featured stations. This educational event hopes to spread the word about ways to conserve Earth's resources and get young minds thinking on their own about the importance of helping, no matter what their age.
