Send a link to a friend

[April 27, 2010]  Relief and recovery efforts continue for the Emden family displaced by fire yesterday.

The Salvation Army thanks the media and the wider community of Logan County for the timely response to the call for animal carriers for the family that lost their Emden home. Thanks to the Humane Society of Logan County as well as other animal advocates and volunteers for responding so quickly. The need for four animal carriers has been met as of this afternoon (Tuesday).

Thanks also to several agencies that have collaborated with The Salvation Army to assist with a variety of needs, including clothing, food and medical care.

The family is not able yet to accept donations of furniture or household furnishings. Any individuals, organizations or agencies that wish to pledge donations of household furnishings or furniture for the family are asked to contact Rebecca Van Nydeggen directly at The Salvation Army Keest Center by phone at 217-732-7890 or by e-mail to Rebecca_Van_Nydeggen@usc.salvationarmy.org.

Additional information will be shared as it is available.
