Construction on Nicholson Road to begin Thursday

[April 27, 2010]  Beginning Thursday, Nicholson Road (1250th Avenue) will be closed to repair the bridge over Kickapoo Creek two miles north of Lincoln. Construction is expected to take several months to complete, and the road will be closed to traffic during that time.

InsuranceThe bridge was built in 1971 and is need of some repairs to keep it in good condition. New steel bearings will be installed under the bridge. The concrete deck will be repaired and overlaid.

The Logan County Highway Department will be supervising the construction. The project should be completed by midsummer.

The highway department always appreciates public cooperation and patience during the construction season as the department continues to improve the safety of roads and bridges.
