Anne Frank's full diary on display in Amsterdam

[April 28, 2010]  AMSTERDAM (AP) -- Nearly all of Anne Frank's diary has gone on display for the first time at the house where she wrote it during the two years the Jewish teenager was in hiding from the Nazis.

The notebooks and pages that comprise the World War II diary have been moved into the Anne Frank House museum to mark 50 years since it opened its doors to the public.

Part of the diary already was at the museum. The rest of the pages have come from the vault of the Netherlands War Documentation Center.

On display are three notebooks, a book of short stories and a book of quotations. Several hundred loose pages written on fragile paper will be rotated for public view.

Dutch Queen Beatrix is opening the exhibition Wednesday.
