Accident report

Puppy causes a problem

Accident occurred on April 27 at 4:08 p.m. at the intersection of Fifth and Union.

  • Parrish, Christopher L., 20-year-old male, Mount Pulaski; 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix owned by Lori J. Carter

  • Sherman, Dale E., 53-year-old male of Lincoln; 2006 Kia Spectra

Sherman was stopped at the intersection of Fifth and Union, waiting to make a left turn from Fifth onto Union. Parrish said he was distracted by a puppy on the floorboard, around his feet and legs. He said he was not paying attention to the road and rear-ended Sherman’s stopped vehicle.

The police report indicated major contributor to the accident as "distraction inside the vehicle" and ticketed Parrish for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

  • Alexander, Tyler A., 19-year-old female, Evanston, arrested April 28 at Lincoln College on Class C charge of disorderly conduct.

  • Barrigear, Virgil, 69-year-old male, Lincoln, arrested April 28 at his residence on Class A charge of domestic battery.

  • Ruben, Synthia A., 30-year-old female, Emden, arrested April 28 at the Logan County Safety Complex on a Logan County warrant for failure to appear. Bond was set at $3,000, 10 percent

  • Slack, Douglas O., 47-year-old male, Lincoln, arrested April 28 at his residence on a Logan County warrant for failure to appear. Bond was set at $250 cash

  • Willis, Terese J., 50-year-old female, Lincoln, arrested April 28 at her residence on a Logan County warrant for failure to appear.

Atlanta Police Department report for Thursday, April 29

  • Thompson, Christopher T., 39-year-old male, Atlanta, arrested April 28 on NW Race Street in Atlanta on Class A charge of driving with a license suspended.
