Ware, from Hammond, Ind., was a two-year starter for the Lynx
and as a freshman helped lead the Lynx to a third-place finish in
the nation. This year, he was the conference player of the year,
region player of the year and helped the Lynx to the first national
title at Lincoln College. During his two years at Lincoln, he played
on two conference championship teams, with overall records of 57-16
and 27-5 in conference. Ware has been selected to play in the
NJCAA All-Star Game on Friday in Las Vegas, Nev. (See NJCAA
article.). He follows former teammate Darius Adams, who was a
1st Team All-American and All-Star last season.
Kirk Whiteman comments: "This has been an incredible year for
Chris Ware and the student-athletes associated with our basketball
program. What I am most proud of is that we had all five starters
this year earn postseason awards. What makes this so special is that
this was a very unselfish team and they were able to buy into the
team concept. It is exciting to see them earn the ultimate reward of
a national title for Lincoln College and the individual awards that
go along with that ultimate prize."
