Grains futures jump, livestock prices mostly rise

[August 03, 2010]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures jumped Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery soared 41.5 cents to $7.03 a bushel; September corn added 9.25 cents to $4.02 a bushel; September oats gained 7.75 cents to $2.7875 a bushel; and soybeans for November delivery jumped 20.5 cents to $10.255 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures mostly rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle added 0.45 cent to 95.05 cents a pound; September feeder cattle dropped 0.75 cent to $1.1345 a pound; October lean hogs gained 0.68 cent to 79.70 cents a pound; and August pork bellies jumped 3 cents to 106.50 cents a pound.
