Grains futures soar, livestock prices mixed

[August 06, 2010]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures jumped Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

WHardwareheat for September delivery soared 60 cents to $7.8575 a bushel; September corn added 16.5 cents to $4.1675 a bushel; September oats jumped 13 cents to $2.9325 a bushel; and soybeans for November delivery gained 16.25 cents to $10.455 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle added 0.98 cent to 96.75 cents a pound; September feeder cattle dropped 0.62 cent to $1.1330 a pound; October lean hogs slid 1.10 cents to 77.85 cents a pound; and August pork bellies jumped 4.5 cents to 118.50 cents a pound.
