Susie Albert

[August 09, 2010]  LINCOLN -- A graveside service for Susie Albert will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Zion Cemetery, with Father James Cravens officiating. Friends may meet at Bill and Susie's house at 10:30 a.m. prior to going to the cemetery for the service.

Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Albert, 58, of Lincoln, died Aug. 1, 2010, at 2:34 a.m. at her home.

She had been employed at Sherwin-Williams, Gossett's Interior Design and Flooring, and Simonson's Flooring.

She was born Sept. 21, 1951, at the Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul. Her parents were Jimmie O. and Mary Bowers Dickerson. She married Bill Albert on Oct. 15, 1996.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; her mother, of Florida; one brother Mark E. Dickerson of Herscher; one niece, Jody B. Dickerson of Galena; one nephew, Jay (and Hillary) Dickerson of Galena; great-nieces Lillian, Maya and Ruby Dickerson; and best friends Susan Shull and Marilyn Wheat.

She was preceded in death by her father; a sister-in-law, Connie Albert; and a brother-in-law, Don Albert.

She was a member of Lincoln Elks Lodge 914, served as the exalted ruler and was the lodge secretary for many years.

She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1969 and from Lincoln Land Community College with a degree in interior design.

Memorials may be made to the Charitable Trust of Lincoln Elks Lodge 914, formerly the Crippled Children's Trust.
