Bridge construction completed on Nicholson Road

[August 10, 2010]  Nicholson Road, also known as County Highway 2, north of Lincoln, is once again open to traffic. Originally built in 1971, the bridge over Kickapoo Creek was reconstructed with a concrete overlay. The bridge bearings were replaced and several other features were repaired. This improvement will extend the life of the structure and help to maintain the county's investment in roads and bridges.

The cost of construction was approximately $700,000. From the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Logan County was awarded $368,344 that was used on this project. The remainder of the project cost is being paid from the local county matching tax fund.

The Logan County Highway Department thanks Sangamo Construction for their assistance and the local residents for their patience and cooperation.
