[August 14, 2010]  Tina Gordon has become a master of delivering great patient experiences on the go. Her office sits on four wheels, and the people she interacts with wear seat belts.

Tina Gordon is the driver for the Care-A-Van, a transportation service offered by ALMH to take patients to their doctor's appointments, nursing homes, hospitals and private residences.

Gordon is a certified nurse's aide who has worked with the Care-A-Van and medical records department for over nine years. She often spends her work days traveling around central Illinois, but it's her dedication to serving the needs of the rest of the department when she returns that makes her stand out, says her nominator.

This co-worker wished for Tina to be recognized as the August Employee of the Month because of her daily efforts to help out the rest of the staff of the medical records department.

"She does whatever we need her to do when she isn't driving," said the nominator. "It could be pulling charts, delivering charts around the hospital, scanning documents, filing charts, verifying records or answering the phone. She always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face."

Gordon considers people at ALMH "like another family" and calls herself lucky to work with "a great group of people."

"Because it's a smaller hospital, you get to know the people you work with," she said.

Gordon would also recommend a job at the hospital because of the way she feels at the end of the day.

"It is very rewarding helping others," she said.

Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital employs more than 290 in a variety of job functions. A different employee is honored each month for their commitment to creating great patient experiences, getting great results and making ALMH a great place to work.
