WL-B over C-EL 8-5

[August 21, 2010]  West Lincoln-Broadwell (4-1) defeated Chester-East Lincoln 8-5 in a junior high baseball game on Friday evening at Miller Field.

Jordan Yarcho was the winning pitcher for WL-B, pitching four innings, striking out seven Panther hitters and allowing only one earned run. Brock Byrge finished the game for the save, pitching three innings and allowing two runs.

The Wolverines were led by Yarcho, Byrge, Payton Ebelherr and Dalton Presswood, who each had two hits. The Lincoln east-west matchup was a close game until Levi Curry hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to stretch WL-B's lead to four runs

Gavin Block paced the C-EL hitting attack with three hits and two runs scored. Max Koning and Summers each had two hits for C-EL

In the second game, Preston Ebelherr pitched a scoreless inning for WL-B. Preston Marten had two hits and three RBIs. Adam Wright, Zac Montcalm, Will Tiffany and Brycen Hicks also had hits.
